Tucked away in Bangkok is a hidden gem that’s quickly becoming a local favorite: this modern Thai restaurant offers a unique twist on classic flavors, making every dish an adventure in taste. With its generous portion sizes, you might find it hard to resist over-ordering, but trust me, it’s worth it.
Street address: 150 Silom Soi 3 Khwaeng Silom, Khet Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500 Thailand
To reach Lon Lon, (In my opinion Bangkoks best Thai restaurants), take the BTS Skytrain and disembark at Chong Nonsi Station. From there, it’s a straightforward 450-meter walk to the restaurant.

After chatting with owner John, I discovered his dedication to quality firsthand. He personally visits the markets every morning to select the freshest fish, meat, produce, and seasonal fruits and vegetables for that day’s menu. This commitment ensures that every dish at Lon Lon is prepared with the finest ingredients available.
The menu is both extensive and thoughtfully designed, featuring a range of dishes that are as innovative as they are delicious. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, and the friendly staff make every visit feel like a special occasion.
John’s philosophy is that each dish should be served exactly as the chef envisioned it. At Lon Lon, there’s no adjusting the spice level—what you get is what the chef intended. This approach ensures a true taste of the dish’s original flavour profile, making it a bold choice for those who appreciate authentic, unaltered culinary experiences. The menu boasts an extensive cocktail list and a wide array of local Thai and Bangkok craft beers (2 for 1 happy hour special from 5:30-7pm). There’s something to tickle every taste bud! For a standout experience, I highly recommend trying the Chatri IPA Thai beer—it’s a refreshing drop at just 185 baht (5USD). Cheers to a great choice!
Not sure what to order? Start with the crispy pork belly, fried to perfection and priced at just 185 baht. For another irresistible starter, dive into the sesame shiitake mushrooms, a delightful treat for only 145 baht.

For an unforgettable curry experience, we thoroughly enjoyed the Betel Leaves Yellow Curry with Fried Seabass. This southern-style yellow curry is rich and aromatic, priced at 285 baht.
From the wok, the Holy Basil Stir-Fry with Marinated Beef is a must-try at 185 baht. Its bold flavors are sure to satisfy.
