When in Bangkok it can often be over whelming with the bright lights and busy bars/ streets. I often found myself looking for a quiet street (Soi) before beginning my night out. Luckily after many attempts on finding the perfect Soi (trial and error) i stumbled across Soi 8.

If you’re planning a night out in Bangkok, choosing the right street to kick things off can set the tone for the evening. Soi 8 Sukhumvit is the perfect spot to begin your adventure, offering a relaxed atmosphere that contrasts nicely with the city’s more hectic party hubs. Here’s why Soi 8 should be your starting point and how to make the most of your evening there.

Location and Accessibility

Soi 8 is nestled in the heart of Sukhumvit, a bustling area known for its nightlife and entertainment. It’s conveniently located just off Sukhumvit Road, easily accessible by Bangkok’s BTS Skytrain system. To get there, hop on the BTS Sukhumvit Line and alight at Nana Station (N4). From Nana Station, it’s a straightforward 550-meter walk to Soi 8, which should take around 7 minutes. Alternatively, if you’re coming from Asok Station (N4), it’s a 15-minute walk of about 1.2 kilometers.

Compared to the frenzy of Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, Soi 8 provides a more laid-back beginning to your night. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, offering a calm atmosphere that’s perfect for winding up before diving into the more intense party scenes. Once you’re ready to move on, you’re ideally located midway between Nana Plaza, just a short walk away to the left, and Soi Cowboy, a quick stroll to the right.

So you have arrived on Soi 8 and are both hungry and thirsty. Start your evening with a delicious and budget-friendly meal at Debt 5, a fantastic Thai restaurant right on Soi 8. Known for its authentic Thai dishes and cheap draught beer, Debt 5 is a local favourite. Whether you’re craving spicy Thai curries or savory stir-fries, this spot delivers great food at even better prices.

After dinner, exit Debt 5 and on your right back towards Sukhumvit road is Invite Wine and Cocktail Bar. Located conveniently on Soi 8, this stylish venue is perfect for enjoying a cocktail or two as you soak in the night’s ambiance. The bar’s sophisticated yet relaxed vibe makes it an ideal place to linger before moving on to the more lively venues nearby.

What to do after Soi 8?
